HealthFirst Is Pleased To Introduce Its Latest Team Member – Dr Claire Sweeney

Dr Claire Sweeney MB BS MA(Cantab) has joined HealthFirst as our Business Administration Manager.

Claire was awarded her medical degree from The Royal London & St Bartholomew’s Hospitals in 1998. After qualification she worked in several major London hospitals treating adults undergoing daycase or inpatient surgical procedures. She also gained considerable experience in the care of the elderly during both rehabilitation and end-of-life.

In addition to her medical qualification, Claire holds an MA in Social & Political Sciences from Cambridge University, England, with a special interest in linguistics, statistics and criminology.

When Claire arrived in Geneva with her husband in 2000 she first advanced her language skills studying French at the Universitaire de Genève. She then used her native English to work as an Enseignante d’Anglais for Supercomm Language School, teaching numerous employees of large and medium-sized companies in the Geneva area.

In 2009 she was relocated with her family to Cincinnati, USA where she was able to put her organisational talents to good use in the international community. She was a Chairperson for the Procter and Gamble International Transferees Incorporated, managing events, publicity and budget. Drawing on her passion for supporting charity, she singlehandedly ran a campaign which raised thousands of dollars for Maple Dale Elementary School, providing essential IT equipment for their young students.

Returning to Geneva she is delighted to join the HealthFirst team using both her medical knowledge with her communication and technological skills as Business Administration Manager. Having a particular interest in the challenges faced by parents in our mobile international community, one of her key responsibilities is co-ordinating our range of interactive Parenting and Health Education Seminars which we present to multinational companies, NGOs and UN organizations.
